To try to resist change or control it too much is to oppose Mother Nature herself. This concept may seem paradoxical, for we might think it’s safer to keep something still so it will stay where we want it – but that belies a lack of trust in the integrity of natural forms. In Eastern thought, all things within the great cosmic unity celebrate their oneness by their own special essence: How a thing is naturally is how it’s meant to be; it cannot be improved upon.
